Dainese D-Air Smart Airbag Jacket

The Dainese D-Air Smart Airbag Jacket can be worn over or under any other jacket or outfit and it requires no connection with the motorcycle, plus it is well-ventilated and is easily foldable. It combines all the power of the latest-generation Dainese D-air® and the convenience of a garment with a thousand uses.

All the safety of the Dainese airbag system used in MotoGP™ and developed in more than 25 years of research on the road and track is now encapsulated in a convenient vest that fits any road situation. The Smart Jacket monitors what’s happening around the motorcycle rider 1,000 times a second. It always deploys the Shield when necessary, and only then, to provide the rider with maximum protection. We’ve never had this level of freedom before and we’ll never be without it again.

The amount of protection is equivalent to seven back protectors and it covers a wider surface than a single back protector, without the restrictions.

The brain inside the Smart Jacket is the control unit in the Dainese D-air® system, which, without any cable or connection to the motorcycle, automatically senses dangerous situations and immediately activates the Shield to protect the rider. Always at the right moment, only when necessary. A brain that thinks and acts to ensure maximum security for you.

Ease of use is what makes the Smart Jacket unique. Put it on and it's immediately ready to protect. You'll be protected for more than 26 hours without recharging thanks to the long-lasting battery. If it's been activated, all you have to do is take it to an authorized dealer, who will replace the internal Shield with no hassle, no complex operations and no long wait times.

How to size your Smart Jacket:

The Smart Jacket can be worn over or under any jacket. To determine your correct size, just follow these simple steps:

• If you are planning to wear the Smart Jacket under your riding jacket , just measure your chest size first wearing what you will wear when riding (base layers, t-shirt, fleece..)
• Please note: It is recommended that you have 5cm (2inch) of space between your base layers and Smart Jacket both on the front and on the back to leave the correct room in case of an activation.
• If you are planning to wear the Smart Jacket over your riding jacket, just measure your chest while wearing it.
• If your jacket has armor, please ensure they are in before measuring.
• Once you have defined the correct chest sizing, just follow the sizing guide below to select the most appropriate Smart Jacket size.

There is a reasonable degree of expansion in the jacket, and it should fit under / over most items based on your standard chest size, the only variance could be over a big bulky touring jacket for example.

The Smart Jacket has a natural drop (regular fit).

How to measure:

Height - The distance measured vertically between the top of the head and the soles of the person's feet (without shoes) in an upright position, standing with feet together.

Chest - Circumference. The measurement of the chest in its maximum extension during normal breathing, measured with the person standing, passing the measuring tape horizontally around the torso over the scapula bones (the shoulder blades) and just under the armpits.

Neck - Neck circumference. The circumference measured at 2 cm below the Adam's apple in the front, and at the 7th cervical vertebra in the back (i.e. NOT horizontally).

Waist - Waist circumference. The circumference measured horizontally around the waist, just above the highest point of each of the iliac crest bones, during normal breathing, on the person standing, with a relaxed abdomen.
